Meal times

Our cook takes great care to ensure that all the meals provided are nutritious and meet a well-balanced diet. All our meals are prepared and cooked on the premises.

Lunch is served in two sittings; 11.45am (morning session children) and 12.15pm (full-day session children). Our menu is varied and consists of a hot lunch, followed by a hot/cold desert.

A light tea is served in two sittings at 4.00pm and 4.20pm.

Fresh fruit is served with milk or water at 10.30am. Milk or water is served again along with a savoury snack such as crackers, bread sticks or rice cakes at 3.15pm. Fresh drinking water is available all day.

The children sit at tables with a member of staff, where they are helped and guided to learn table skills to encourage independence.

We continue to hold a five-star rating from Rushcliffe Borough Council Environmental Health officers for our food hygiene and safety standards.

Children can attend Millfield from birth to age 5.

How does Millfield differ from other nurseries?
Our family-based environment, relaxed atmosphere and beautiful rural setting make Millfield unique.

How are new children/parents helped to settle in?
We offer free ‘settling in’ visits before your child starts with us. To begin with, you can spend time in the nursery with your child. We then encourage you to leave your child for short periods of time, until they are familiar with the nursery and its routines.
