We fully understand that probably the single most important
parenting decision you will take is choosing the right Primary
School for your child.
Your child is special, with unique talents, unique needs and
unique ambitions. Your child needs a School that not only recognises
this uniqueness, but can adapt its teaching to suit the individual
child. Larger schools lack this flexibility.
Over the years many of our parents have suggested that Millfield
should provide for the next stage in a child's education to
continue building on the firm foundations already laid at the
Nursery. That option is now available.
During the summer of 2007 we established Colston Bassett
Preparatory School, which officially opened on the 10th
September 2007.
The School is a selective, co-educational primary school and
accepts children aged between 4 and 11 years, offering full
time education from reception to the end of Year 6.
We provide our children with a safe and caring learning environment
in which the individual can flourish. We nurture and develop
the necessary values, talents and skills which will provide
a platform for future success. The children at Colston Bassett
School are happy, inquisitive and challenged. They enjoy learning
and all want to join in the many activities that we have to
offer, both in and outside of the classroom.
The school motto is "Vitae Discimus"
which means "we learn for life", summing up
our approach to this early key stage in a child's development
as a well-rounded person. The new primary school is, first
and foremost, a brilliant place for children in Nottinghamshire
to learn and will leave them full of happy memories.
If you choose to take up a place at Colston Bassett Preparatory
School, children will start school in the September of
the academic year in which their 5th birthday falls. |
