Mealtimes
Our cook takes great care to ensure that all the meals provided
are nutritious and meet a well balanced diet. All food provided
is prepared and cooked on the premises. We are delighted to
have received a five star rating from Rushcliffe Borough Council
Environmental Health officers for our food hygiene and safety
standards in our latest inspection. Five star ratings mean
'a sparkling business meeting or exceeding industry standards'.
All our meat is supplied by Clive Lancaster butchers based
in Bingham, Nottinghamshire and their produce is of very high
quality, all locally sourced.
Lunch is served in two sittings - children who spend just
the morning at nursery will eat at 11.45am. Children attending
nursery for a full day will eat at 12.15pm. Our menus are
varied and consist of a hot lunch, followed by a hot or cold
desert. Water is available freely during lunch and all meals
where appropriate have a vegetarian alternative option. We
will cater for any child's dietary needs.
A light tea is served in two sittings at 4.00pm and 4.20pm.
This meal usually consists of a selection of sweet and savoury
sandwiches, salad, raw vegetables, cubes of cheese, fresh
fruit pieces, raisins, bread sticks or a few crisps, a biscuit
or cake, or an individual pot of fromage frais. We serve 'no
added sugar' juice or water with this meal.
We serve milk or water with fresh fruit at 10.45am and milk
or water at 3.15pm
Fresh drinking water is available all day for the children.
The children sit at tables of five or six with a staff member,
where they are encouraged and guided by the staff to learn
table skills to encourage independence.
